Applying for Employment

 

The Schuylkill Valley School District welcomes your application for employment for instructional and non-instructional positions. It is the goal of the district to secure the best qualified applicants for all vacancies and consider candidates without regard to national origin, color, religion, gender, age or disability.

Applications submitted to the Human Resources Office will be reviewed for employment consideration. Every effort will be made to secure the best qualified applicants who possess the education, experience, and qualifications for open positions. Interviews will be held with those applicants who best meet the qualifications for the positions only when permanent vacancies are available.

The Schuykill Valley School District uses a paperless system for employment applications.

The electronic application system is accessed by clicking the "HR/Careers" button at the top of Schuylkill Valley website.  Current vacancies by category are displayed under the Human Resources header at the top of the screen.  Click any category name to view positions or click "All Vacancies" to view all available positions. Beside each vacancy title there is a red "Apply" button.  Click this button to start the electronic application process.  Please review the the important information regarding the electronic application process before clicking "Start" to begin the application. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.  After you complete each page, click "Next Page" at the bottom right of the page to continue to the next step of the application process.

Teacher Applicants

Support Staff Applicants

Support Staff Application - Support Staff Applications are available on the Schuylkill Valley School District website and at the Administrative Offices, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Substitute Teacher & Guest Teacher Applicants

PA certified teachers who would like to be placed on the substitute teacher list should complete and submit the teacher information listed above.

The Berks County Intermediate Unit 14 (BCIU) offers a Guest Teacher Training for individuals with a bachelor’s degree (in any content area) who are interested in serving as substitute teachers. The training program enables participants to substitute in BCIU classes as well as classes within 18 participating school entities in Berks County.

The Guest Teacher Program is offered twice a year (Fall and Spring) at the Berks County Intermediate Unit, 1111 Commons Boulevard, Reading, PA 19605.

The following paperwork must be submitted:

PA Standard Teaching Application

Money order for $25.00, payable to BCIU (Personal checks are not accepted.)

Two (2) personal and/or professional references

Once this paperwork is completed and submitted to Deb Larkin at BCIU, you will be called to be scheduled for an interview.

Internal Applicants

Current Schuylkill Valley employees do not need to provide the information listed above.  Internal candidates should apply using the electronic application system.  After starting the application process you will be asked to identify whether or not you are a current employee.  Please select the current employee option to submit your name for consideration for positions.
