Captain Timothy Faller United States Navy Captain Faller graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, received his commission through Aviation Officer Candidate School and was designated a Naval Aviator in May 1989. Following initial training in the MH-53E, Captain Faller reported to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron Fourteen (HM-14) in January of 1990, where he served in various billets and qualified as an Airborne Mine Countermeasures Mission Commander and Functional Test Pilot in the MH-53E. During this assignment he deployed on USS Tripoli (LPH-10) and participated in Desert Shield and Storm. In June 1996, Captain Faller reported aboard USS Ponce (LPD- 15) immediately deployed to the coastal waters of Liberia for Operation Assured Response and qualified as Officer of the Deck Underway. Upon completion of MH-53E refresher training, Captain Faller reported to the combined C/MH-53E Navy and Marine Corps consolidated fleet replacement squadron, Marine Helicopter Training Squadron Three Zero Two (HMT-302), where he served as the Officer in Charge of the Navy Detachment. From November 2001-June 2004, Captain Faller served as Air Combat Placement Officer at Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN and then attended the Naval War College in Newport, RI where he earned a Master's Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. In January 2005, Captain Faller returned to HM-14 as the Executive Officer and assumed command of HM-14 in February 2006. During this period, he was responsible for AMCM squadron readiness, MH-53E Fleet Replacement Training and active duty and selective reserve training. Following his command tour, Captain Faller was assigned to United States Joint Forces Command where he trained Joint Task Force headquarters in joint operations as a member of the Deployable Training Team. Captain Faller's most recent assignment was as Deputy and Chief of Staff for Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Japan/Navy Region Japan from 2010-2014. His awards include, the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (six awards) the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Combat Action Ribbon and various other campaign and unit commendations.
