Mrs. Batson's Class
The 2022-2023 school year marks my 30th year teaching at Schuylkill Valley. The majority of that time has been spent here at the middle school teaching 8th grade language arts, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The students, faculty, administrators, and parents make this district a truly outstanding place to come to work every day.
Prior to moving to Berks County, I grew up in Quakertown, Bucks County, where I graduated from the Quakertown Community School District. I then attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and in 2003 I earned my Master of Arts in Education from Gratz College in Elkins Park, PA.
When I am not busy grading 8th grade homework, I am home with my husband, visiting my oldest son Reed who is a graduate of Millersville University and is living in Red Lion, PA, visiting my step-daughter Ellie who is a graduate of Widener University with a degree in nursing, or visiting my youngest son Barrett who is a recent graduate of West Virginia University in the honors college, majoring in industrial engineering. Additionally, I love spending many days in Ocean City, NJ; it is my home away from home!
